In one of the remaining — and critically needed — offices of Ombudsman, we’ve selected an officer. I’m happy to announce David Tschanz as our new Ombudsman. If you’re not aware of this office, it may be one of the most important for the long-standing health of the organization — the ability to mediate potential difficulties quickly between members, and maintain a happy, otherwise thriving organization.

David has been a member of Mensa since 1994.  He has advanced degrees in history and epidemiology and is currently the Coordinator of the Military History SIG.  Born in Connecticut, he spend 23 years working in Saudi Arabia where he worked for the medical department of the world’s largest oil company before moving in speechwriting and public relations work there. He currently lives in Venice where he works with many nonprofit support organizations such as Special Olympics, Knights of Columbus, Elks etc. and serves on the city’s Historic Preservation Board. He is eagerly awaiting the birth of his first grandchild this June (2018).
